The Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK) is the first step for internationally trained dentists aspiring to become licensed in Canada. This exam evaluates candidates on a wide range of topics related to general medicine, basic sciences, and clinical knowledge.
Exam Structure
The AFK consists of 200 single-answer multiple-choice questions, delivered in two parts. Candidates will have two hours to complete each part. Each question carries a value of one, with a minimum score of zero. A test-equated, re-scaled score of 75 or greater is required to pass.
